AQUATIC CENTER construction on schedule!
South Whidbey Parks and Aquatics Foundation is partnering with Whidbey Climate Action to fund expanded solar power for the new aquatic center on South Whidbey.
An expanded solar array will:
Reduce carbon emissions
Lower long-term operating costs
Free up funding for swim lessons and access programs
The current build includes a 15kW solar array, but the center's design can accommodate as large as 144kW of solar.
Our goal is to raise $400,000 from grants and individual donors to expand the center's rooftop solar system from a basic installation to it's full potential.
Target installation: within the first year of centers opening, from mid 2027 to 2028
Your support now helps unlock major grant funding by demonstrating community commitment.
144,000 kWh of clean energy annually
$21,600 in yearly utility savings
115 tons of CO₂ reduced each year
Taking 24 cars off the road
Eliminating energy use from 14 homes
Offsetting carbon from 105 acres of forest
