South Whidbey Parks and Aquatics Foundation is partnering with Whidbey Climate Action to fund expanded solar power for the new aquatic center on South Whidbey.

An expanded solar array will:
Reduce carbon emissions
Lower long-term operating costs
Free up funding for swim lessons and access programs
Our Goal
Our Goal
The current build includes a 15kW solar array, but the center's design can accommodate a system nine to ten times larger than that.
Our goal is to raise approximately $350,000 from grants and individual donors to extend the center's rooftop solar system from a basic installation to it's full potential.
Target installation: within the first year of centers opening, in early 2028.
